Fixing lacquer is dead easy. A light sand with fine wet n dry paper to take the sharp edge off, rinse with water, spray lacquer. If it's orange peely afterwards don't worry, just let it go hard then buff off with polish.

Its nice to see her, she looks like a good straight car, plenty of driving left in her by the looks of it. That Si leahter does wear well, not too shiney either.

That looks Ok under the scruffy-ness. I've only done one mirror so far but found regular body polish does a good job of restoring the mirror plastics.

Vaseline on the bumpers, good quality hard wax on the scuttle panel and mirrors and it will gleam! :D

Hi Guys!

The interior really does Not need touching, it cant get better! The glove box works too! Sunroof, however, does not, but whats new in that deparment..

She has an S1.5 Clarion Radio headunit, the RDS one in black, with CD changer in the boot..

My main attention is needed mechanically, that being, BOTH strut tops are quite dire, the rubber under neath is pushed away from the metal ALL round!

Drivers wing, and bonnet need changing, got them on another car here, but its in an awkward corner.. also exhaust system too is hanging on by its teeth!

Rear subframe needs dropping and the exhaust hanger on the end of the sideways box needs re welding onto the frame!

Hi All..

My 2.1 has been sitting now for about 5 months, due to needing some small jobs which the winter weather has not allowed me to do.

Anyway, today while at the farm I started her up to run her, however then noticed the following:

Image

Note the metal upper cone looks in good order - and it does too look good.

However, look closer at the sphere! YES, its ON the fire wall lip...

So... looking under the cone best I got this view:

Image

The rubber underneath HAS parted with the metal plate that sits UNDER the wing!

I WAS expecting this, but not while still fitted to the car, I knew due to the state of the under rubber... Theres strong evedance of the inner rubber parting from the outer cone. Ill demostrate this when I get the old tops off the car

Watch this space.

Cheers
Paul
