Wish me luck.

MoT at 08:00 tomorrow. She will be nice and warm as I am having her done at a garage I know well down in Oxfordshire not far from my office. They use a 'one man' automated rig to do the test which is quite impressive to watch in operation. Since I know the tester I am allowed to watch the process up close and personal.

Update tomorrow evening.

Thanks Dean. I am not too worried. One of the front tyres has some sidewall damage which I hope will be put down as an advisory. I am just preparing to shift back to steels but haven't prepped all the hub caps yet :(

Overall she is a solid car and certainly drives well so I am not expecting anything too surprising!?!

She passed!

Not a single advisory and some nice comments from the tester!

Mind you the day was not uneventful. On the journey to the testing station (50 mile from where I live but very close to where I work) the engine management light started flashing on and off. It has never done this before. I thing my first thought of 'Bloody typical' just about covered it. With no choice but to carry on the light went out finally about 15 miles from the testing station and hasn't been on since.

It does look like the Chevron Rally will now be a no show I am afraid. My good lady has other plans for that weekend and she and I are in need of a few restful days.

Hopefully by the time we get to venture to in public again next year I will have smartened the old gal up a bit and got all her new steels and wheel trims sorted.

I have a generic OBD code reader but mine is too early to have a standard OBD socket, No Lexia I am afraid.

It would have been good if I could make it up to the Chevron Rally but that is only going to happen if I get divorced!!!

I will just keep an eye out and if the light keeps coming on I will have to make an effort. Perhaps a blink tester? Not a clue where I'd plug it in but that is a problem for another day.

My bet is on the Lambda sensor.

It's good to see you are considering all options.

See you at the rally, then.
