Like Frankenstein, it's risen from it's operating table! :D

It took three hours of bleeding, priming the pump and when my back was turned, at 3pm, the hydraulic message went out and it creeped up so gradually, I didn't notice it. Then having realised it had pressurised I looked under the back and it was off it's stands. So I whipped those out, and got it supporting itself. It needed a full litre of extra LHM in the tank too. I have driven it in and out the garage to check the gearbox works. And it does thank god! It's drank 4 litres of ATF now and might need more. Really strong creep on it and all gears engaged. Phew!

So bonnet on tomorrow, and then get it out onto the open road for a test drive. :D

Well done, Russ. She obviously needed that blood transfusion and "fluids"!
Hope everything behaves itself from here on.

As good as new now! I'd take her out and buy some big unhealthy pizza in Scotland and then drive back to see if all is well. Good job!

Well done Russ! You said a very strong creep if you mean that when on a level surface and in drive the car creeps forward? When I had mine in drive it didn't creep at all but on a hill it held it rock steady.

I think creep is normal with autos on level ground Norman is it not? I remember driving my first XM auto and feeling it was a bit odd! Regards,

Every auto I've ever driven has had forward creep in D on level ground.
Excessive creep can be due to too high an idling speed.
Some auto boxes seem to have some kind of "forward only" clutch when D is selected, which prevents backward roll.

Thanks all.... I just need it to behave now. I haven't the energy to do anything else!

I think your spot on there Chris, it does idle a tad too high on hot idle, and I drove it when it was all warmed up. So it does need reducing a tad. That should reduce the creep a bit.
Every auto I have driven has had some sort of creep. Some more stronger than others. The old mandarin engine/ gearbox had very little creep.

Now I come to think of it my previous Xm did creep but I had forgotten.
