Removing the sender with the engine out is very easy, no access issues at all, so I don't think there will be a problem with the engine in the car.

Well i checked with Citroen yesterday and they no longer stock either the turbo boost sensor or the oil level guage....

Guess its a second hand one then.....

anyone know if they are the same thing as the 1.9TD level sensor??

Ive got a block sitting in the XM shed, Ill check the back of it to see if the sensor is still intack... I have just broke the last on, snapped the wires off the top of it..

I know the Xantia only has a flashing light when its low, but it still might drive a level guage..

There is almost no point going to Citroen now for parts. They just have given up stocking anything useful. Shame, but not surprising.

I would certainly be interested to see if this part is used elsewhere. An idea...what about Peugeot dealers?
Otherwise, as you say Vince, second hand.

They use the same parts warehouse and supply chain, but it's possible a dealer may have on on the shelf...but what Peugeot had an oil level gauge?

A request on Partsgateway might get a result.

True. Clearly a Citroen quirk this gauge.

Im not majorly concerned about finding one,....parts gateway is just like yell.com for scrapyards, how many breakers are now going to have xm's sat around?

There are a few places / people who have a stash of xm parts so im sure one will turn up if i post up a wanted thread? Either way i dont need one right now, bigger fish to fry at the mo :|

Well, this week is my last week working for GSF car parts! Its been about 6 years in total but ive had enough of the crap and so am jumping ship to work for Andrew Page motor factors. To say thanks for my years of hard work and business growth GSF senior management are blanking me not replying to my emails or phone calls and payroll is stiffing me for 4 days wages right before christmas...this is the reason im leaving, its not the same company it used to be and i fear next year they will lose more and more good people....but hey, its their loss ;)

Yesterday i spent the day visiting my key customers saying goodbye as i will be working in the north end of the city from now on, and im using the xm for work this week.

It was great being in the xm as nearly all of the garages were loving it :) I went to see Trafford College to drop a water pump off on my travels, the tutors came out and commented "wow is that yours?....i havent seen one of those for years...awesome" I love this kind of appreciation of the xm's styling ;)

At the last garage i visited their polish mechanic walked out as i pulled in and was like "oh yeah, such great cars these...honestly mate you have a great car" I left him looking round it as i went in to see the garage owner

Im in it for the next 3 days too...how many left now 172 on the roads isnt it? Loving it :P

Glad your getting on well with your XM Vince, she is a nice looking car thats for sure, i think you have made a lovely job of it so far and it is a nice colour, looks great on those wheel trims too.
Mine always attracted attention, plenty of people would come over to chat about the car or just stare at it parked up, something i certainly never had happen in a Xantia despite looking rather similar.

Hope you get on well in your new job anyway, nice bit of change for the new year and hopefully they will be a much better crowd to work for.

Thanks Dean, I'm looking forward to the new year and the clean slate start.....

I've managed to sort out the wages issue...seems it was a mix up between HR and payroll....that's one thing at least...
