I have at least 2 cars that these need replacing on now. The other 2 haven't been checked yet.

Re: K725 KVG has a new home
Had a look through one of the heaps and found a couple of NOS items.
95 637 366 (cylindre) was a boxed non-hydractive rear cylinder (3.5mm) complete with boot and clamp.
Dean inherited the unused cylinder in a fairly bulky attempt to make up a sphere tester that I gave up on when a Citroen original tester came my way.
It would be useful to know the cylinder diameter.
5 484 368 (parescussi) is a sealed rubber boot with no clamp.
Both boots appear to be 55mm dia to fit the cylinders.
I will look out for some recovered cylinders to measure diameter where the boot fits.

Ok... Do you want me to measure the diameter when the cylinder is removed? It's not likely to be in the near future though, funds simply won't allow.

Hi Ray
No no need I have every type of cylinder except the type that I passed on to Dean.
I am just interested to see that Citroen used to list two types of XM boot and now only list one.

Re: K725 KVG has a new home
Today I took the wing off to find out why the side repeater stopped working
It was simply a broken wire, quick solder, insulate and put back together
I also cleared out the mud from the bottom of the wing and sprayed some Underseal on

Taking the wings off is always rewarding. An easy fix coupled with a nice bit of preventative maintenance.

Re: K725 KVG has a new home
That mud collection has a lot of responsibilities...
It rots wings... Back outwards..
It also encourages the shell corner behind the wing area to rot out too...
Me.. Personally.. Actually prefer though it looks increadably untidy it is leave the bottom of the wing unattached to the cill lip..
Or make it a periodically practice to lever the lower part out ever so slightly and prehaps hose any excess crap out from behind... This helping premature rot and keeping it all clear.

Re: K725 KVG has a new home
I was really nervous about taking the wing off as the Practical Classics photo shoot is next week, but I also didn't want to travel on the Motorway without a side repeater. Pleased to say it all went ok, I even manged to get the bumper bracket out AND back in again

I agree Will and the problem for me is the false wheel nut covers, which are of courser lost in rotation - hence I prefer the other design! Regards, Matthew T.Being more precise, I hate them when stationery, but love them in motion.
