it's only a small chip, I'll get it filled. The tailgate will be fitted sooner than the windscreen hopefully.

It's gonna be after Christmas, maybe even early springtime before I replace the window and tailgate. Last time I was with her I noticed that the rear most window on the drivers side had also been attacked, I'm just so glad that they never succeeded in smashing this as I fear it would be too much hassle to replace.
No way I didnt notice that  What unbelievable idiots!

I had a couple of hours up at the garage today whilst the Peugeot was being repaired (again).

I've managed somehow to make a quick repair to the Earth on the tail-light, it seemed the contacts just needed a little adjustment. Then with some time to spare I decided to start stripping the tailgate. Anything and everything that can be used again will come off

You will need to drop the headlining Ray to get at the connectors to the tailgate harness... It will be easyer to do that then try remove the harness from the gate itself..

I would be keeping that tailgate as straight, Series 1, ones with no rust are getting hard to come by.

I was going to dispose of it, no use without glass? It's started rusting on the inside, but no holes etc. Some of the bolts for the centre bar were a pain to remove

If you have storage space I would keep it, unless it is rotten. Glass can be cut from a donor tailgate and rebonded onto a sound one.
