We frequently have to spend a lot of time pinning down exactly which model, build date and variant of XM you have, if this isn't immediately clear in the post. Sometimes we have to make a reply asking for this very essential information, or even end up resorting to wading back to a member's early post, in the hope that the info was there!
So please, could anyone who hasn't already done it . . .
go to User Control Panel (at the top of most pages)
hit the Profile tab
This throws up Edit Profile.
In the Location box, let is know whereabouts you are based - hugely useful in providing assistance.
In the Orga/RP box, please type your car details...
my example:
RP 7165
1996 2.5TD, saloon, manual, Polar White
and hit Submit.
You'll find your RP (Orga) number painted on the front LH door pillar, between the hinges. It's the four figures we need, because it identifies the exact date the car was built, and when components and systems may have changed.
When you've done this, the information will appear to the right of every post you make, and will save us lots and lots of difficult searching.

If you'd like a 'postscript' Signature to appear under your posts (to maybe include previous cars, uplifting thoughts, etc.), you can create one:
go User Control Panel
hit the Profile tab
hit Edit signature
and enter your text in the box.
Lots of options for text size, colours, and what-have-you.
Finally, hit Submit.
When done, the new Signature will appear at the bottom of each of your posts, like this one.
