Is that what its saying, that they're limited to 6kb?

Shouldn't be the case....

Hi George

I dont know, but i had to reduce it to the point it didnt show the whole picture and it was all distorted so it had to be a realy tiny file size, much smaller than usual anyway.

Hi guys,

For the first few days the forum was setup, the avatar limit was left set to the default (pathetically small) 60x60. I increased that to 160x160, but if you uploaded it at the smaller size you'll need to redo it to have it use the larger one.

Funnily enough, I can't upload one and get an error back :o

I can only get one to display by linking to one on my webserver...

Yes, it says 160x160 or 6kib. The smallest image I could find on my pc was 26kib!

But I understand if it's for the interest of economy in the forum.

Now have to download some software that can resize images...

cheers

Hi George,

The 160 is defs the case, but the max filesize is set to 15kb rather than 6 (though 6 was the original default).

If you need a quick image resize, post the pic here and one of us would be happy to do it for you, or you could get the quick and easy 'image resize tool' for Windows XP here.
(There are also several other useful utilities here.

That image resizer allows you to just right-click on any image in Windows explorer, and choose 'Resize pictures' from the menu. Then you can select required dimensions, proportions etc, and off it goes, done in two seconds.

/EDIT: Sorry, I must've been typing that as Dean was posting his :)
