There is no blank button.
That is the status indicator light on the drivers rear window isolator switch.
Most of the sill photos show it in shadow.
A very difficult area to check. Shows the extent of the alcantara infill panels. The rear seat heater switches are on the back of the centre console.
Not all exclusives got them fitted. John

Upper sill is body colour.
Lower sill and underside is black.

That isn't a blank, it's a tell tale light. the button is the rear window isolator switch.

The XM Exclusive alcantara is like tissue paper. Very comfortable, but the life expectancy is short. I would be absolutely amazed if it's not worn out completely.

I wold bet it's the same used in the GTI-6 100k miles at most before it starts to fall apart

That's correct. Body colour on upper sill, stonechip black on lower half.
Ours (1996) is the same.

AFAIK, all XM are the same.

Oh well despite my interest got a message this morning telling me they've sold it which has annoyed me slightly but I suppose it what you get for trying to buy a car on the other side of the country

There will always nee another one. In some respects it's good to see that leggy Xm are selling quickly.

Are you particular about wanting a 2.5 Exclusive?

I don't mind the engine but has to be manual very high spec and in good nick (or very very cheap if work needs doing) there was someone selling a lockup full of citroens last year they've got my number but never got a call back so don't know what's going on there he aparently had a manual high spec (can't renember if he said prestige or exclusive don't know the differance either)
