THIS could be what 'JORGY' is really looking for :?:
Gorgeous looking (Wort's an all, N/S/R arch) the DOG$ B@LL@CK$ Exclusive 2.5TD on E-BAY :!:
Located in Norwich/Norfolk (Near to the the 'Diss' Trader who may have Sold it in the past) and starting the price of £1850, so it will be VERY interesting to what this XM actually achieves :D

I don't think it will achieve a single bid. High opening price plus reserve, so you know you're not in at the outset -- not the right recipe on Ebay. If you are going to go for the reserve then you may as well kick off at 99p.

Also curious about the statement that the other half can't get on with the handbrake --- so is this a recent acquisition that hasn't panned out ?

Mike.

Wow! that's a very beautiful XM, posh looking car actually, this color reminds me the Multimedia series, *almost* as gorgeous ;)

It's a bit out of what £££ I was thinking of spending though.... :(

Curious what it'll make, yes.

Is not John-xmexclusive leaving near Norwich??? If I was him I'd think of making it my Christmas present!!! (yes, I know, there's no clutch etc info, but look how damn good it looks!!!)

cheers
George

ps. why this...mania of 2.5 owners starting the bidding at £X,XXX ???? This would sell better on autotrader as such.

Hi George

My rule of thumb guide would value this car at about £1200.
It seems the owner values it at around twice that.
So a good chance that he may be stuck with both the car and continuous complaints about the foot brake.

Update !

I contacted the the seller with this message :-
"Hi, Please could you confirm if that is a crease or some sort of accident damage over the wheel arch just above the N/S/R wheel (Ref. photo #10)?
Or is it the light picking up some sort of reflection in the photo shot as also in the same shot someone who's taking the photos feet/jeans's can be seen !
Also could you please confirm the total number of owners the vehicle has had as this has not been stated ?
BTW a very nice looking XM 2.5 TD Exclusive !
Thank you."

I got this message back from the seller:-
"No there's no crease or damage above the N/S/R arch it's perfectly O.K. so it's just a reflection of some kind as are my feet and jeans. Sorry about that! Surprisingly,it's had 5 owners but the condition certainly doesn't show it.Thanks for your enquiry."

So that's cleared up that weird photo shot :D

Hate to mention it (well, not really !), but I was right, so far. Not a bid. Nice as it undoubtedly looks, it's just done too many miles to be in the big money (by XM standards) bracket. I reckon if he'd kicked off at 99p, he'd be looking around £1500 by now and another few bob on top of that may well be all it's really worth.

Just had a quick look to see if its still with zero bids with just less than 8 hrs to go and noticed this in the 'Questions and answers' :-
E-bay seller wrote: Q: Hi there ,previous owner here. I drove this absolutely breathtaking car for 4 years. It was totally reliable and purchased from Wolsey House Motors in Diss who are Citroen specialists and what they don't know about Citroen is not worth knowing! I traded in my second XM( a friend owned it )and only had a slight problem with a forward under bonnet fuse box which was sorted by Danny at Wolsey House. I loved the car and regretted selling it. I will be buying a C6 when funds allow!!

A: Hi pjpstlj7, Thanks for your letter.I know what you mean.I'm regretting it already and I haven't sold it yet. If I'm honest I'm not really bothered whether it sells or not. The original idea was that it would be a replacement for the Lexus (in the background) and my wife would use it for work (I use a van) but she found the clutch a tad too high for comfort and still uses the lexus automatic so the XM has to go.Such is Life!It is,as you say, thoroughly reliable. We also bought the car from Danny at Wolsey House and I agree he really knows his stuff when it comes to Citroens.Anyway, thanks again for the letter and Good Luck with the C6 .They really are something special and so different from the usual boring offerings from Europe and Japan. Definitely something to aspire to. Regards,Alan.
If the previous owner regretted selling it now's his chance to buy it back, as he may regret buying a C6 when they go wrong as I'm sure most thing's that are engine/electrical related will be a main dealer visit to repair them and burn a big hole in your wallet :!:
