Wanted bits to finish my Mk1 ES9 V6 Auto 2000W Reg

I love my XM!

You may remember that I have a late 2000 W reg V6 24V Auto and my mission was to create a facsimile of an early S1 but with all the features of the latest and most developed XM. My car now boasts the original alloys with the big central hub cabs, full Series 1 interior including dash and door trims, Mk1 nose cone and boot spoiler. I need a few (proving impossible to find) parts to finish:

Mk2 under front bumper towing eye covers (drivers side needed but will take both if you have them)
Mk1 Leather Single spoke steering wheel (I currently have a non leather single spoke wheel fitted)
Genuine Citroen carpet overmats in black (front and rear). Second hand is fine as long as they have some life left in them

Hope you can help me. I know these parts are difficult to find.

James

Soooo.. You have then prooved s1 dash will fit an s2 pedal box and heater.. However there is no reason it shouldnt..

Will you or have you done a pictorial of this transformation?? Im a big S1 fan and not as keen on s2 dash.. But would also happy convert an s2 into s1..

Can i also ask.. How have you over come the air bag warning light?? After a certain year in the uk they MUST work to pass an mot here.. Or are you cheating with a simple circuit..??

A resistor will cheat the airbag detector...but technically the car will fail an MOT test as the sirbag lamp won't run through it's test sequence.

Unless James has installed an airbag warning lamp into the dash cluster.

I do think the S1 dash will go striaght over the pedal box and heater etc, so I think actual dash fitment wont be hard at all to go in...

You are right; a resistor of the correct value will allow the the light to extinguish after the test cycle and also allow the side airbags to remain fully functiona ;) l. Anybody have any joy with the parts I am after?

Unless James has installed an airbag warning lamp into the dash cluster.
All S2 circuits remain so the cars original (S2) instrument cluster is used; they are the same basic item is S1 but internals change. For example the ES9 V6 incorporates oil temp guage as well as airbag warning light. Same for dot matrix etc. :)

Have a number of spare tow eye covers.
Will part with any colour other than green ones and the primer set still in the Citroen bag.
