Hi Dean and Andrew
Seem to have got a bit crossthreaded here.
Peter and I covered this one in "Cheap 2.5" yesterday.
At the moment I am one over the eight so will have to take an XM to Peters and park it in his field.
Regards
John

I got a bit excited about that one - until I saw the engine size

According to the DVLA there is only one silver YBL 2.1 estate left still on the road, my only other chance would be a late '94 or'95.

Peter, how on earth do you know that? Do you have a list of what XMs are currently left in circulation?

No but I entered all the YBLs one at a time! to see how many were left on the road, two silver ones came up, one was untaxed so I assume it had been scrapped. I entered all the numbers from about 350 to 500 which I think covers them all - sad, isnt it

they are all registered in Jan '96, the last with Bosch machanical pumps, and manual gearboxes, best engine of the lot, good for 300k+

Hi Peter
It seems that Citroen/PSA were given blocks of 999 numbers to preregister cars with.
They took at least 3 blocks for the 1995 model year.
I think we covered this item a while ago on Club-XM.
MxxxEWK was the first in autumn 1994 then NxxxRAC was a 1/1/95 block while NxxxYBL was 1/7/95.
So it is possible there are a few more YBL XM's still out there.

Hi John
I have never come across a YBL XM that wasn't registered in Jan '96 so I assume the earlier ones must have been for a different model.

Why oh why oh why do people who sell things off Ebay before the sale ends persist in altering the description to say it's sold, rather than ending the auction and removing the item altogether. What is the point ? Really bugs me, along with those whose list of terms and conditions is bigger than the item description -- especially if they themselves have a feedback of about three ! Rant over.
Mike.
