Is this a member's car? If not, sounds like they should be here, as this is their XM no.3

I very much like the look of this car but my preference is for a 2.5 hatch, and I really want working air-con and cruise. There is still the one at Great Paxton,(For Sale N451XDC) but £3k is a very big investment in an aged Citroen. And I haven't got that kind of money lying around at the moment.

They say they have two other cars, not two other XM.
I think he is right about the prices rising, they are definitely firming up and nice ones are fetching sensible money. Only 775 left on the road now, out of which ~200 are S1.

I'd say 14 other XMs means the other two are probably XMs too. It has the best alloys too.

They are the best aren't they. Suit the XM so well.

You may already know this, but if you are looking at 2.5s then the cruise is probably not an issue. If it doesn't have it already then you can add it by plugging in the button and stalk - the rest is already programmed into the system ready to be turned on by the switch. You just have to get the 2 parts and drill a hole in the steering shroud to poke the stalk through and plug them in.
When I did mine they didn't cost too much from the dealer, but I expect they are not still available or are a silly price now so you would probably have to look second hand for them. There were instructions on one of the sites for it - it may have been the .com site or maybe the XM-L yahoo group.

I think that I posted the 2.5 cruise mod on the com site self help a few years ago now.
Bits are easily obtained secondhand.
Aircon was an option on VSX 2.5's so not that many are fitted.
All 2.5 Estates were VSX so on them aircon is rare.
According to Dieselman there are only 38 Exclusive 2.5 cars remaining on the road.
I suspect few of those will meet your spec because most turn out to be well used.
The 2.5 aircon version of the engine has that troublesome, difficult to maintain serpentine aux belt and fittings.
Robert Smart will be along soon to point out that this is another of my brainwashing against 2.5 ploys so I can buy them cheap.

Thanks for the comments about cruise & air-con, chaps.
I too have noticed the relisting. I also see David has had to lower his price significantly on his 24 valve in Glasgow.
Now all I need is for the garage at Great Paxton to lop a grand or so off their asking price...
