Hi

Pleased to say German 24V arrived yesterday. :) Pretty good all round and drives fine, but plenty of things to sort before I can get it registered and MOTd.

Car went on the road in Feb 91, its dark metallic grey with interesting bodykit including spoiler at top of rear window.

But....
It has no seats (should be black leather)
no door card or motor assembly/switch for front nearside door (drivers)
needs the centre console and centre armrest as both are damaged.

If anyone has any of the above for sale please get in touch.

Thanks

Marc

Well done Marc for getting the car across and it is certainly good to have another series one 24v on these shores! The dark grey metallic is quite an unusual colour too and I look forward to some pics in due course. Hope you can get the interior bits you need and sorry I cannot help myself, but do keep an eye on ebay as leather seats etc. do come up. Regards, Matthew T.

The interior stuff will be the same. Same seats and door cards, same centre console. As long as his car has a dash and carpets, then the rest of the stuff is common between RHD and LHD. The only difference with the seats will be that if Marc gets a UK interior, he won't have the raise/lower function on his "new" drivers seat, as it will be on his passengers seat.

Hi

Making some progress here. Adjusted the hydraulic pump belt, dead easy compared with a 2.5 - well done Citroen at least you got that right on this engine. Cleaned up the plugs, again very easy access. Cleaned up the rotor arm and distributor cap, slightly odd set up but even that was straighforward. Starts and runs well now.

Suspension is good, which is a nice surprise as car hasn't been used for 2 years. Brakes are really sharp! I don't know if all S1s are like that but the brakes are much sharper than any 2.5 I've owned. As for the Diravi it's too early to judge as I can't drive car anywhere legally, but my first impressions are that they should have stuck with the 2.5 turns of the CX or 2 turns of the SM.

I fitted some RHD headlights from an S2 and discovered no rust behind the front bumper - bit of a shock, Ive never seen so much metal there before! Presently working on unseizing the wiper linkage after discovering that the motor was ok. Bit of fiddle but good chance I might actually have working wipers as well as headlights tomorrow.

Back to the interior......Have tracked down some leather seats and a console for an S1 estate, but could someone tell me if the rear seat will fit a saloon? Also the car doesn't seem to have any wiring for electric front seats, which strikes me as a bit odd. Surely they would have fitted electric seats to the 24V model? Is it a case of finding a positive feed from somewhere and retrofitting?

Cheers

Marc
