I was going to suggest this as one for Peter, now that he has a Pug. But I see the head gasket is going on this 605.

Probably easier to replace than the XM one Robert. Nice car but sadly not an estate, I don't think they made one did they? Estate essential for us. Thanks for thinking of me.

They never did do a 605 estate.
Have you found a suitable C5 yet Peter?

I'm not actively looking at the moment Robert, just trying to accumulate sufficient information to make an informed choice when the time arrives. Both XMs are still functioning at the moment but the body on one is getting a bit rough.

I predict some shocked XM owners in the future when they see how much rust their cars have, an dhow well it was hidden.

It seems to have happened all of a sudden after 10 or more years of apparant absense - I take it the guarantee on the galvanising has expired
