Would this be a S1.5 model, or just an S1 with a later grille added?

I understand S1.5s have more robust electrics and other improvements compared to S1s - is that true?

Not really. The main difference is the inner wing earthing points are bolted instead of a spade terminal multi-block.

agreed, the "electrical issues" XM's were famed for dont really exist in my opinion, the earths on the inner wings were bolted on from 92 and so stopped any earth issues.
This car will be one of the last MK1.5 models, most likely with hydractive2 suspension depending on when it was actualy made but being a Prestige model it should have a rather nice spec.

The Late Prestiges are very well equipped. The one I had only had 2 options missing, heated seats and metallic paint.
Pity they didn't do a TD Prestige

I never got round to making one either...
