Not really any of my business, I guess, (although I remember the injured party having a run-in with the BX Clubbers recently), but offensive e-mails are not what we're about here. Is it?!

Hardly the end of the world as these can be bought easily at the moment. Less stuff to go wrong and likely a rare early car worth sorting out.
i have actually seen the car i think i can describe it well enough, nobody has come to look at it so how can you all speculate as to what model it is? i do have some photos of the car which i tried to send to robert twice, [/b]
Can you host the photo's so we can see them because AFAIK all XM had hydraulic suspension as designed. There is no way the rear suspension could be anything different, there isn't space to fit coils.

I don't think it's a rare early car, but a different model altogether. I would genuinely like to see photo's.

Don't look at me - offensive emails aren't my thing either.

Like everyone here I was just trying to offer help and be constructive and yes, possibly curious
and therefore by default being nosy I guess as the car sounds(ed) unusual and worth someone
putting right. Comments I made about exhaust, brakes etc on a petrol 2.0 are a subject close
to my heart as I own a good many base early 2.0i's.

I haven't had the will or stomach for much webbery lately and if something I've inadvertently
kicked off has upset someone (anyone!) I'm off...

Huh..What...??

All you've done is asked perfectly legitimate and innocuous questions relating to what appears to be a very strange car. I'm very curious about this car too as it just doesn't sound like an XM at all.

I'm confused about the car and the accusation of emails as well..seems very strange, unless someone felt they had been messed about...even then.

You would have thought he would have put some pictures on for our benefit seeing that this is an XM enthusiasts club - very strange.

Believe me after the shenanigans on the BX Club forum, I honestly believe this is just another incomprehensible tantrum from Mr Doolally of Darlington. These things happen: strange behavior and accusations without any back up.

Oh this is a good one, I somehow ended up here while searching for other poverty pack carb'd XMs but didn't expect this!- Perhaps our good fellow here might have mistaken a Daewoo Espero for an XM or something...

I'm sure he never had an XM, if indeed any car at all.
The accusations were a smokescreen to cover up being caught out.
