I suppose, a lot of the poorly maintained automatics have met their maker. People in XM circles are genereally aprehensive about autoboxs, for fear that they will fail, so any manual cars are going to be sought after, more so for the 2.1 due the the 2.5 having a reputation for being more demanding on the maintenance front.
For the diehard XMers, what do you replace your XM with? There is no suitable replacement, other than another XM. The C5 is garbage in comparison, the C6 is outwith many peoples reach as well, also will the C6 be a good proposition when it becomes affordable? So Xm prices are going to rise some more, then probably level off, as the prices will keep the people who want a cheap banger at bay when they realise that a younger car is cheaper etc, so the market will be for people who have a XM now, or who want to have one as a classic car in the future. We will probably see less cars publicly for sale in the future in general, as XM owners trade amongst each others for cars etc.
