Breaking 1994 2.5 TD

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi Dean,

That armest is going into the SD!! :D All of my XMs will have one by then (waits for tutting from Andrew!)

Hi Steve,

The dot matrix is one I repaired myself. Its not perfect. Some of the columns aren't lit, but it isn't bad. Its good at telling me to stop immediately etc etc. I'll take some pictures of it tomorrow to show how it is. If interested PM me.

Hi George,

The temp sensor doesn't work on this car.

But it does on my SD!

I'm interested in the strut tops, or at least the drivers side one if they they'll fit my 2.1SED (off to look in Haynes to see if I can find out)

Otherwise...

A electric window door switch blank (the plastic in-fill for the unused switch holes in the rear door armrest)
Two interior door-locking button things (thing you push down to lock the doors from the inside
Does it have the wooden trim on the centre console? If so then could also use the ashtray cover, and the gearknob (if that is wooden too)
The boot light switch / flap

Hi boyse7en

Strut tops - I have actually decided to keep these; the spares I have aren't as good as these. (General Note - if you take strut tops from a 2.5 or V6 to install on a 2.0 or 2.1, you need to change strut and cylender due to the cylender diameter.

Electric window button blank - Ok

Door buttons - Ok

Wooden trim is spoken for - Gear knob is available

Boot light switch/flap - not available.

If you're interested, please PM me.

Hello Robert,

Iam after the large intake pipe from intercooler to plastic inlet at front of engine (about 10 inches by 3inches diameter 's' shaped with large clip in the middle). Mine is repared after having split. Also the plastic engine cover tray over the injector area. If these are available could you quote me a price including postage. Cheers, Paul

The pressure that this pipe is subjected to makes it virtually impossible to make a decent/robust repair and thus could loose some of the intake manifold pressure substantially if it has some air leakage and thus in turn can cause a loss of performance !

The Citroen O/E part number is:- 38284 and the last price I had on this item was £33.48 + VAT, so not too bad compared to other O/E parts for the 2.5 TD unit .

:D

If someone does want roberts interior i have most of the same interior in my loft (minus rear bolsters and armrest) so if wanted someone could use my passenger seat to replace the worn part on roberts.

In reply to XMX, yes I do realise that what you say is true. The reason that I discovered the split was due to the chronic reduction in performance. It is the 2nd time that I have repaired this hose. My temporary repair consisted of cleaning and binding with with black 2" plastic reinforced gaffer type tape. Trouble is that after a while the diesel breaks down the tape adhesive into a gloopy white mess and the tape loosens, the hose eventually leaking again. Thanks for the advice on getting a new one, I had imagined that it would be more expensive than that.

In spite of the above, thankfully, Robert is sending me a second hand one at considerably less than the new price so I will be a happy bunny!
