S2 Exclusive CD autochanger

Hi, I have the original radio cassette in the car and understand a CD autochanger was offered as an option. Boot mounted I assume (but I did sneak a look under the passenger seat!).

Does anyone have one of these original spec ones for sale? I would need wiring/plugs and a manual would be good. Will pay with real money!

Also any pictures of an installed one would be helpful.

Hi

I've had two S2 exclusives. One had a boot mounted CD player and the current one under the passenger seat. I prefer the under the passenger seat since there is less chance of dirt getting into it compared to the boot of my car!

It just mounts on a simple plate on the seat frame.

I got a phillips one given to me by Paul Johnson from the XM centre when my Dad bought his C5 from him, it was broken but managed to fix it. I just made a couple of little right angle brackets and bolted it under the front passenger seat. There is a lever on the side of the unit for either vertical or horizontal fitment. As for wiring it just plugs straight into the back of the stereo. (mines a VSX by the way not exclusive). I might be able to get some photos posted up for you.

The one you need which is compatible with your S2 XM Exclusive is a 'PHILIPS RC026' as tended to be also fitted to Land-rover - Freelander's and some Rover models but the lead at the Radio/Cassette head end IIRC may be need an adapter if you source one from one of those that's of course if the connector lead comes with the CD unit/changer !

Here's some I've spotted on E-Bay (some may only be the CD changer only and no lead also NOT tested or no cartridge/magazine to carry the CD's so beware and read the listing's carefully) !

I'm not to sure about this one (You'd may need to check it out with an In Car Sound Specialist or the main Stealer but as it was out of a Pug 406 it may be compatible, after all it does have '026' mentioned in the listing) !

The short answer is 'no', although I am watching one on eBay (although it's a little expensive - and I'm waiting to hear if the leads come with it - the seller told me he'd take them out of the car and include them... but I haven't got confirmation yet). Why? You have one?

Update:

Managed to get a Philips 22RC026/50B CD changer (it appears to be the same as shown in Hobblerian's post) for not much...

I got a Citroen Philips radio cassette 22 RC 465/35S with it, which I'll try to get the code for, which might fit in my BX; worth a try.

HOWEVER I do need a cable/lead for the CD changer, so can anyone help me out here? Much appreciation in advance! :)
