Wanted: Engine mount rubbers

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Cheap at twice the price that one! Not. So, a whole set of mounts found in short thrift on good 'ol ebay.

No. Maybe I've been describing it wrong. Where the mount you describe is fitted, there is an arm that goes from the top of that back to the bulkhead which has a rubber at each end (the bulkhead end and the engine mount end)
Maybe it's better described as an engine steady.

Odd, that looks like a 2.0i petrol motor as opposed to a 2.1TD one? ;)
That would be best described more as a torque bar or engine stabiliser/steady more than a mount.
I've not seen Xm ones listed on online shops or on eBay so it may very well be a dealer only part?
The bushing on similar links can be renewed by pressing in a circular mount like the first eBay links
in this thread and this is can be highly effective - been here with the Cx one.

It'd be well worth checking out for similar fitments on Pug and other Cit models but a log into
Citroën service website will be the only surefire way. I'm not totally sure whether second hand
would be any better than the one you've got on the car considering age/wear etc.

It may be the same as the bottom engine mount, worth checking.

This is more the kind of thing? Though it needs to be the other bush the end shackles are bolted to.

Peter is quite correct - a diameter/width measurement would help to determine if a bush
can be renewed on the stabiliser.

mine used to have that mount but it was rubbish and expensive ish so i took the whole thing out and replaced it with the normal sort of engine mount that you can just buy new bushes for at £10 each.

Thats not it Andrew, that is the link bar common to all XU engine mounts the bit thats different on his is the horizontal torque control buffer just undoes and comes out rather than having to press out the bush like in my photo above, do your early 2.0i's not have this setup?

Very likely Dean; problem is, with so many damned varying engines (and cars  ) it all get's
a little samey/blurred about the edges (getting old?) - I'm pleased to say I've not dismembered
a 2.1 or a 2.5 TD (yet) and it's at least 10 years since I pulled apart a 2.0 Xm. Guess it's down to
reliability of the petrol engines I prefer using. ;)

Now Cx's I won't ever confuse and are a different matter altogether though I've had plenty of
practice with pulling apart Xantiae (1.9TD) in recent years! Did I mention I'm not really a big
fan of diesels?
