On ebay this morning

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi All

The RHD 2.5 estate was over produced and stockpiled in 1995/6 with many waiting for a year or two to get sold.
I am reasonably certain that they were the largest selling volume of UK Mk2 XM's (all were VSX's).
In sales numbers the 2.5 cars (VSX & Exclusives) was probably the next in line.
I still expect a good few of these to appear for sale during the next year.

No need to shout, sir. (In case you didn't know, using caps like that on a forum is generally considered bad form - rude, if you like). If you believe (as clearly you do) that you have been maligned, then just say. It's a debate we're all happy to consider - after all, it's a very subjective area.

I would have thought the price is on the high-ish side, but I've seen higher! If someone really wants it and it gets the support you offer, then I can see it being a reasonable price to pay. But that's the starting price isn't it. Maybe it won't climb that much from there? But if it does; well done!

Sorry if I upset you Savoy, but that is still my humble opinion.

How come its a 1998 with a 2.1 engine? I thought they changed over to the 2.5 in 1995 or so.

They added the 2.5 Estate along side the 2.1 Estate for the series 2.

Perhaps someone can clarify when the 2.1 Estate went out of production. Nothing odd about a 1998 2.1 Estate.

I think that XM estate production (all engine types) ceased in 1999 a year before the XM car production stopped.
The 2.1 engine was retained as an option to the bitter end.
