XM petrol SX

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Wow. I'm impressed and amazed and even a bit jealous; he's got a working sunroof!!
Actually looks like a nice car if you want a s2 auto TD. (x3 things I'm not after!! :P)

Great one for the guys looking for their first Xm mind with nice miles!
As far as value on eBay I goes, whilst I stand to be corrected by Robert,
I'd guess around the <£800-1000 mark? Even for an M, good unmolested
enthusiast owned modest miled cars should be getting this money NOT
the £3k WHM price - speak of the Devil, bet this is where it ends up
with that kind of sticker price! Less money is good for a near 12 month
T&T car and lately there have been some bigger prices in open bidding.

Well I am paying £700 for my 2.0CT manual (eBay) and seems on the face of it that this car is worth about the same if not a tad more because of the T&T. But it isn't an Exclusive... so. Maybe even stevens?

I recently worked out what WHM means. Agree totally!!!

Ooops - shows I'm not 100% awake!! I thought it was a TD!!

For some bizarre reason a petrol could be a few £100 less actually - maybe even struggle past £500!!
Sorry I'm not saying the right things here am I Citroenesque... :?

Doesn't worry me really. I believe what I'm paying is not unreasonable - but proof of the pudding... etc. Obviously if I could've secured it for £500 I'd be even happier: but it wasn't to be! It's a bit like what happens on other forums, we tend to talk down the values of the cars we admire.

If someone could get this petrol SX for £500 then IMHO they'll potentially have a bargain. Mind you it's not turbo is it?

Yes, it is a turbo constant torque. What concerns me about these at lowish values is their premature demise
by the Puggeriser engine snatchers for their jollies and going the same way as the rare Activa and Bx 16v'ers.

Maybe I'm being hard on the £500 value knowing your price paid - there are plenty of bidders beyond the
500 mark so probably (with reserve) this particular car should be safe for a while yet. The petrol turbos
get a lot of flack for their fuel economy but everyone's a committed dieselnut now so no petrol seems
good enough.

Yes it is.

It say's so in the title.

And the picture of the engine bay confirms it.

Personally, I'd go for the exclusive every time. The SX is very basic. But strangely, SX's always seem to be well looked after. Possibly because they're more likely to have been private buys rather than company cars.

OK - it's a turbo - do'oh!

Interesting dynamics with regard to BX and XM (and loads others no doubt!) prices. I'd say in the whole BX prices were on the up. XM - don't know. Have they bottomed out?

As far as petrol is concerned: I'd rather be driving one than a diesel - except when pulling up (or away from!) a service station! I believe economy is the biggest reason diesels are more popular, can't be that they are better to drive? Is it? :)

Anyway, I haven't even seen let alone driven my XM. Jury is most definitely out...

Its a very nice car, only over 100k miles. Fair amount of T&T. It will be out of the reach of the puggerisers I hope.

Again it is a TCT in the most basic spec, its not the most diesireable car. But its overall condition makes up for the lack of goodies, which lets face it aren't essential. In terms of value, it might actually struggle to get much past £500. There was a nice black TCT last year for sale, the one with loads of spares in the boot if anyone remembers it, and it went for pennies. No one wanted it. When the auction ended, the price was less than the starting bid for this car.
