Unfortunately, we’ve decided to put our XM up for sale.
Hopefully it will go to someone who appreciates it as much as we have — someone with more time to enjoy it. It has been well looked-after all its life.
It’s a 1993 Citroën XM 2.0 SEi Turbo Automatic in green (ERY) — ORCA 6050.
We’ve owned it for about two years, during which it has mostly been resting in the garage… probably just like most of its life! (There’s quite a nice story behind the car, which I received from the previous owner’s son.)
To keep it short — and I may be forgetting a few things — during our ownership it has had:
Full cambelt kit
All spheres replaced with new IFHS units (factory-ordered)
Brake calipers stripped and refurbished (front & rear)
New brake pads (front & rear)
New brake hoses
Bushes and driveshaft gaiter
New brake discs
1 × ABS sensor
2 tyres
4 spark plugs
All filters replaced
Engine oil changed twice (flushed)
Gearbox oil changed
Gearbox knob refurbished
Alternator stripped and refurbished
Air-con compressor stripped and refurbished
New front air-con radiator
New air-con dryer
New air-con compressor clutch
…and probably a few other bits I can’t remember right now, but they should be in the invoice folder.
Condition:
The car looks very solid with no rust (thanks to the previous owner). Sills are solid, and the underside is solid as well — and of course anyone viewing is welcome to put it on a lift. Sunroof works perfectly and doesn’t leak.
Known minor issues:
Interior roof lining is starting to come off in a few places
Pin pad is deactivated, but still works and I have the PIN
Radio asks for the code every time (likely pin-pad related) — I have the code
Cruise control doesn’t work — I believe it’s the pump
AirCon need gassing.
Check engine light comes on occasionally, then goes off, but the car drives fine
Battery no longer holds charge (probably from sitting). It’s under 2 years old but will need replacing — starts easily with a jump pack
The car is MOT’d until August 2026 and taxed until the end of December, after which I’ll SORN it, as there’s no point paying tax while it’s not in use.
It will come with:
2 working keys
A stack of invoices
V5
Lots of new and good used spare parts (some rare and expensive bits — hard to list from memory)
The original set of headlamps. The headlights on the car have been custom-built by me using a spare set, 3D-printed shrouds, and LED bulbs (cost me over £350). Excellent night visibility, and plug-and-play if you prefer to return to the original lights.
I also have a set of fully refurbished BBS Propus 17" wheels — they just need tyres.
The car can be viewed mostly on weekends, and can be driven around the block to get a feel for it.
If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
Price: £4,500
