The end of P820 UNM (Turbo 2CT)

Dear all,
I just had a quote for repair of the damage (£6,000) that is beyond what I can afford. If someone can and is willing to repair it (off course not for free) I would like to keep it, but otherwise parts can be obtained for anybody interested. The car passed the MOT last month with advisories that all had been repaired.
After the 22nd of May I will keep my eyes open for people on the forum expressing interests in parts (I see there are some that I could supply from my car, but my, probably unrealistic, hope is that someone comes to the rescue of the car).
I had it for 10 years and was planning earlier this year to have some poorly painted parts resprayed and some minor corrosion restored to a good condition, but alas, it was not to happen.
Thanks for reading,
Hans

I'm sorry to hear about your XM Hans, especially after having it for so long and very likely already spent much love and money on it! Fingers crossed someone can save it, it may help to list what the damage or faults are for this very purpose.
Just in case it won't be saved, as per another thread on here I am looking for the turbo and ancillaries:
Turbo
Exhaust manifold
Exhaust manifold heat shield (unless it's disintegrating of course!)
Turbo boost pipes
Turbo oil lines
Turbo coolant lines

Thanks Tom,
all those parts should be there. Paul Roberts was the person who restored the turbo when I bought it, so it must have been done well

. If after the 22nd I have not heard of a possible rescue mission you are welcome to get those parts.
Good idea of your suggestion to write in more detail (hopefully with pictures) what the damage is. I hope to get to that in the weekend!

Isn't the other parties insurance covering the cost of repairs?

Thank you for the reply Hans, I have been sorted out by Jon who is breaking his 2.0 TCT. Should it not be successful I'll let you know, but I do hope yours will be saved! Regards, Tom.

Unfortunately they only go as far as £2000, but we try to get more still. We are still negotiating.....

Dear all,
the car was driven in from the back, driver side. The garage making the quote told us the axels are fine, but there is a lot of work to do on the car. This is what the work entails, on the quote:
To repair chassis leg and boot floor .Fit parts as listed . Paint new and damaged parts plus paint door to match.
Note that due to the compression (the car slit forward around 30cm even though on handbrake and on park) the back door can't be opened.
Attached the picture of the damage.
Hoping someone can repair it (not for free of course) but the £6000 invoiced by the garage I can't afford, given that my white XM (L912 BLJ that suddenly got a broken gearbox) already gets a new gearbox and overhaul of the engine that already costed £2000 with more to come.....
I have tried downloading pictures as jpg, jpeg, tf, tiff, bmp but none worked; either to big or too few pixels is the comment. Happy to send pictures by e-mail.
Thanks for reading.

Perhaps you can start a gofundme or similar? People could chip in some quid then.

That is an idea. I have not thought about that. I need to think about it.

The high mileage is working against the value of the car.
If the rear wing has been moved forwards enough to trap the rear door then the frame needs jigging before panels can be worked on.
if yours gets scrapped, it's becoming imperative for it to be broken for parts, not just crushed.
There is a late 2.0 series 1 TCT auto, prestige for sale...the only Xm for sale in the UK. 100k miles, needs a bit of tidying, but could be nice.
