Inside the binnacle are two caps. Remove these then the two screws, lift or prise the rear edge of the unit upwards, where it meets the warning lights diaplay, then once it is clear, pull the binnacle rearwards, towards you.

Many ,Many thanks for the information, Easy when you know how!!, Instrument pod removed, and broken end of the speedo cable, plastic connection cable to speedo is broken but i think i can effect a repair, Just need to source the new inner cable!
