French plates on British XM

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

French plates on British XM

Post by nirgunapa » Sun Jul 05, 2009 9:34 pm

Fresh up on Ebay is a UK registered XM that has been registered in France giving a rather nice look. Presumably you have to register the car on UK plates eventually? Looks to have spent a lot of its life welded to a caravan.

Hi

Strange, i pulled into Tesco's last saturday and saw an XM estate in the same colour as this one thats for sale, with french plates parked in my space in the corner of the carpark next to the motorbike parking, it had a towbar on it too, and a dog in the back i think, cant be that many around on french plates, and certainly not on the island!

If you have residence in France it is very easy to re-import and register a French made car. Also exempts you from road tax when you bring it back over here with a full tank of cheaper fuel.
